The story
Story time
The beginning
2015
My dad took me to a riding school in Serres , so I can learn how to ride a bike on top of a Yamaha 125cc . But that was the day I found my passion for riding. Then, that sudden interest created my path. I wanted to ride as much as i can, so I was going with him every time I could. There was no thought about me going professional.
First steps
2016
Had my first crash , a small high-side which resulted in a fractured collarbone. Still I wanted to ride , so the moment it healed I was back on the bike. We bought an old Aprilia RS 125cc , a two-stroke bike which was quite the step for me at the time. Loads of speed, but was getting the grips of it. Problem was it was breaking too often. That's when we learned about a class in the Greek championship SSP300 as well with Yamaha R3 challenge cup, we got the bike. I loved that bike since the moment I stepped on it.
1st Race year
2017
The preparation was on! Went to Spain , so I can ride during the winter. The championship was starting in April so there was quite some time to ride and prepare. However in one of the trackday's we were doing , I went on a R6 which was a mistake at the time. Was too early to try that bike and I crashed it... broke my ankle.
I was back for the third race of the championship. Finished second in my very first race 0.065sec from the first. I was thrilled!
The year went on battling the first position but came short for that P1 in my first year of racing , however I was chosen for the Yamaha R3 challenge cup which was happening in Italy.
The experience was amazing and important for my development. I saw how much work I have Infront of me to be competitive.
2018
That was the year when we stepped up the championship. Made the decision to go and race in the best championship in Europe at that time for 300 - The Spanish National championship. Was anything but easy. I was pumped to work on myself and improve. Was really good for me to see that there are so many steps above where I was and it was possible to improve loads more.
I was competing in the Yamaha R3 cup once more alongside the Spanish championship. Finished 5th in the R3 classification that year.
Made a debut back at my home championship - the Balkan Championship. Made record for the SSP300 at the track we raced at that year - Serres circuit.
At the end of the season I was feeling more ready than ever to step the category and go to the 600cc bikes and start preparing for 2019. The decision came from the fact that I was relatively said - heavy for the 300cc bike.
2019
The change happened , decided to do the Regional championship of Spain called at the time CIV (Copa de Espana now)
The team was the same as the previous year. So now the only thing was to get as good as I can on that bike before the season started.
Even though CIV was not at ESBK's level , it was still extreme. It pushed me to my limits to get better and improve each and every weekend.
The season was going better than planed as after the last race before the summer break I was leading the championship. We pushed that fight till the last weekend of the season , between me and two more. It was down to the last lap whoever wins the race wins the championship. Finished 3rd , that year.
2020
2020 was learning year , switched teams for the first time and went to the Spanish Yamaha Team in the ESBK. For the first time I really felt what real racing means and saw first person why everyone told us "if you want to get better you have to race in the Spanish championship". Was racing against the best riders coming from all around the world. Started around top25 and got as best as 15th.
2021
Continued racing in the Spanish championship as well as doing some races in the Regional and became the champion of Andalucia for that year. There were amazing news : I would be racing in the AMA (American National Championship). It was dream come true. Making a step to the 1000cc bikes and racing in such a championship I was so so happy.... unfortunately it all went south at the last moment so had to focus and decide what am I doing next year.
2022
2022 was something of a new chapter. Made the big step to the FIM JuniorGP stock 600 championship or otherwise known as the European championship. Started off extremely strong with a 4th place and went on battling in Top5 for the next races. Just before the summer break I had my best race weekend by far. Was 4th in qualifying, I knew I had my chance for podium this time, but luck was not with me. Another rider pushed my front tire, just at the start of the race going to T1 of Jerez , which resulted in my worst injury... with my suit opening and scratching big part of my side really badly. Had to miss the following weekend in Portimao , Portugal.
For about a month , I was doing indoor cycling just so I can keep my body moving , not going to lie it was really painful. I was healing slowly and was able to do few training days on the 600 and was eyeing the Alpe Adria championship for a training race weekend. Going there helped me get back my confidence and finished 5th which in my eyes was far from ideal , but had to take into account the break I had.
JRGP's next race weekend was in Aragon and had time to get back to Spain and do some more training before heading to that weekend. It was tough... Race 1 went okay , until 3 laps to go , where in a battle I lost the front in T2. I was okay but the bike was beat. Unfortunately , couldn't take part of Race 2 , because of the front forks being tilted , a thing no one in the team checked.
For the last race weekend we decided to change teams. The weekend was really promising with a solid P4 after a fierce battle to the line. Decided to move forward with that team for 2023.
2023
It was really tough year after making a change with the teams and not working out as I wanted. After three races that year far from the results which I had back in 2022 we decided to part ways with the given team but it was mid season and no spots were available. We made a small Bulgarian team and did some racing in AlpeAdria Eurpoean championship making 3rd and 4th , went as well to the Balkan championship, doing multiple lap records and race wins. However I couldn't secure sponsorship nor a team for 2024. It was meaning only one thing I couldn't continue racing the following year so I had to come with grips with this fact.
2024 - present
Made the decision to start this academy, a place where people can learn and give them what I didn't get. I have a mission and I am following it with all my power. There are many things I want to achieve with M91 Racing Academy.
Coaching turned to be something amazing and thrilling, I knew, seeing people improve and learn is rewarding but never thought is even better than a race win.
